The monument is known as the Pencil Monument because of its resemblance to a pencil. It actually commemorates the Battle of Largs, where the Scots defeated the invading Viking fleet in the year 1263. The monument was constructed in 1912 and is located at Largs, Scotland.
Having originally been born in the town of Greenock on the River Clyde just to the north of Largs I would like to return in the coming months and activate this monument along with other CASHOTA locations in this part of Scotland.
