After Hopefully successfully activating King Arthurs Round Table G-532 on Monday, 30th December 2013 WX dependant, I also hope to activate Mayburgh Henge G-533. Mayburgh Henge is on a tongue of land between the Rivers Eamont and Lowther just south of Penrith. It consists of a single circular bank, up to 6.5 metres high, and 50 metres across its base, broken by a single entrance and enclosing an area with a diameter of some 90 metres. It contains a single monolith 2.8 metres high, although in the 18th century there were four standing stones in the centre, and a further four at the entrance. It probably dates from between 2000 to 1000 BC, and may have been a meeting place for a large prehistoric community. 400 metres to the east is the earthwork of ‘King Arthur’s Round Table‘, consisting of an irregular bank surrounding a circular ditch some 12 metres wide and 1.5 metres deep. To celebrate the new millennium, a Millennium Stone was erected nearby. I hope to be QRV at approximately 1300 hrs +/- 1/2 hr and will be operating 20M close to 14.265 MHz & 40M 7.160 MHz. Hope to work members of the group. 73's Ian 2E0EDX

With having the next two Mondays off work, the opportunity to activate afew more CASHOTA locations is to strong to ignore. Therefore WX dependant, I will hopefully travel north on the M6 to activate both King Arthurs Round Table G-532 and Mayburgh Henge G-533 after previously cancelling these two activations last December due to extremely poor WX.
I would hope to activate G-532 first on 40M SSB with a QRV time of 1000 Hrs +/- 1/2 hour and then continue to the Mayburgh Henge for the second activation of the day with a QRV time of 1200 Hrs +/- 1/2 hour.
CASHOTA Ref: G-533 WAB: NY52 (Book No: 20141) Loc: IO84PP
After a sucessful activation I will post photographs on the CASHOTA 'Gallery' if the website has been re-established.

After sucessfullly activating King Arthurs Round Table it was time to continue to the Mayburgh Henge. On doing so I passed the Eden Millenium Monument. After a quick drink & butty it was rucksack back on and the short walk from the lay-by on the bend of the road to the gate giving access into the field leading up to the Henge and into its bowl which suprised me by the size of the interior and interesting viewing the last remaining Standing Stone in its centre. Again set-up the Yaesu FT-857 and 20/40M Linked Dipole in the centre of the Henge and was QRV at 1139 hrs working the following stations: GM0MYQ/M Jim NY17 G7BGA Geoff ruyton x1 towns GM0MYQ/M Jim NY18 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ94 G7AFM Phil SO61 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ95 GM0MYQ/M Jim NT01 M1TRC/M Chris SK45 M0COX/M Neil NU03 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS92 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS82 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS83 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ85 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ75 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS84 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS74 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ76 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS75 EI2KD Rodney Milford Co Donegal G0COX/M Neil NU02 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS76 GM0MYQ/M Jim NS66 MM3PDM/M Peter NJ66 M6AWG Mark TQ36 GM4LTJ/M Mike NB52 2E0WPZ Dave 59 59 Norwich DK5DR Walter Bremmen G3ADZ Keith Wickham Market 2E0OOM Mike Gravesend Equipment used: Yaesu FT-857 SOTAbeams 20/40M Linked Dipole inverted 'V' SOTAbeams 10M Travel Mast 12V 12AHr Battery 50W Output All in all a very pleasant activation close to Eamont Bridge and King Arthurs Round Table.
