After sucessfully activating the Castle Stede WW11 Pillbox, CASHOTA Reference G-461 and then packing up as rain stopped play! It was the short and quick route back to the car to set-up for the activation of the 17C Loyn Bridge G-462. Once back at the car, a quick brew and sandwich was taken and due to the rain still being evident I decided to activate /Static Mobile from the vehicle. Put on the 40M monoband mobile whip on the roofrail of the car and this time activated using the Yaesu FT-900AT from the rear parcel shelf while standing under the vehicle rear harchback door, an excellent roof for activating under. Again tuned around the 40M band and found stations still on the WAB net with afew new WAB Squares to be had so called in and worked the following stations: GM4LTJ/M Mike NB55 G0GMY Paul Brighstone Isle of Wight SZ48 G0BFJ John Huddersfield SE11 G0RQL Don Mai Devizes G7AFM Phil Hereford G0GDU John Nottingham G7GBA M1GRC/M Chris SD90 GM4LTJ/M Mike NB46 GI4FUM David Co Antrim J18 GM4LTJ/M Mike NB45 Equipment used: Yaesu FT-900AT AMPRO 40M Monoband Mobile Whip 12V 170AHr Battery 50W Output All in all a very pleasant activation next to the 17C Loyn Bridge and Medieval Ford. Photographs of the activation can be found on the following websites: www.cqportable.webs.comwww.cashota.co.ukCASHOTA Northwest England Group Thanks to all stations worked. I hope to be out later in the week activating another local WW2 defence postion. Details to follow. 73's Ian 2E0EDX
