Can someone just confirm that Motte & Bailey Castles form part of the CASHOTA scheme. An example would be Castle Hill, Halton in Lancashire or Castle Hill, Burton in Lonsdale.
I'm assuming they may be equivalent to follies & raths in Ireland etc?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ian
we accept all historical sites, as you can see from our lists they are then classified within groups, so people can understand what location they are activating.
I personally have even activated standing stones.
Hope this helps

Thanks to both for your replies. Have spoken to Chris M0DOL and have now alerted for several motte & bailey activations on the 4th & 5th of this month in the Lune Valley area to the NE of the City of Lancaster. 73's Ian 2E0EDX www.cqportable.webs.com

Thinking of my recent aborted VHF and portable activations for CASHOTA I really have nothing that qualifies as an HF antenna at this time. Therefore, to get me up and running HF /P for the various inland activations I have acquired a Norcal Doublet 10M to 40M portable QRP antenna. Although I will require a portable antenna tuner of which I have two, one being an ATU, the LDG Z100, it will still make the equipment relatively lightweight to carry in the rucksack to elevation or very simple when activating at ground level for CASHOTA as an example with short transportation from the car to the activation location. I intend using the FT-817 and the antenna will be used in the inverted 'V' position suspended from a telescopic fishing pole. Watch this space now for a test on receipt of the antenna on a possible Christmas CASHOTA activation to make up for the recent disappointing VHF attempt................ -- 73's Ian 2E0EDX www.cqportable.webs.com
